Captain Gaglione, District Six has posted the following:
On October 17, 2008 an elderly female reported a burglary in the 3100 blk of 71st street. The victim reported that earlier in the day two H/M's came to her house inquiring about a lawnmower for sale. The victim was not selling a lawnmower but stated she was waiting for the city to come and trim some bushes. Suspect #2 and the victim walked to the side of the garage and suspect #1 was no longer with them. Suspect #2 kept the victim occupied until victim became suspicious and the suspects left. Victim then discovered she had been burglarized.
On 10-21-08 in the 5500 block of W Morgan an elderly female reported a similar offense. 2-4 H/M's attempted to talk their way into her home by stating they were working on her neighbors house and needed to park a vehicle on the side of her house. One of the suspects attempted to distract her however the victim became suspicious and told the suspect to leave.
On 10-20-08 in the 800 block of S 4th street an elderly female reported that 2 males claiming to do landscaping 3 doors down from her. The 2 males entered her home, 1 distracted her and 1 was found searching in her bedroom, the victim yelled and the males left. The following descriptions were given in the first two incidents
S#1 Hispanic Male 30 yoa, 5'-5'1" heavy build wearing dark jacket and blue jeans
S#2 Hispanic Male 20-30 yoa 5'6"-5'9" slim wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans
description of auto's involved: late model station wagon silver in color, large dark colored SUV
In the 3 incident the suspects were described as possible Serbian males speaking a foreign language.
S#1 W/M 50yoa 508 stocky build black hair and black mustache light gray jacket
S#2 W/M 40yoa 508 stocky build, black hair, thick mustache tan jacket
***Make sure you keep your eyes open so that we can keep our neighborhood safe. Be sure to keep an eye on your neighbors and get to know them. If you spot something suspicious, don't hesitate, call the police - 911.
- Updated 6/11/08 During the City Meadows Neighborhood Association Steering Committee meeting on June 11th it was noted that there has been multiple automobile break-ins and theft of personal property in the City Meadows Neighborhood. Please make sure that your vehicle is locked. It is also recommended to remove any valuable personal belongings from the vehicle or plain sight. If you see suspicious activity in the neighborhood call 911 if you suspect a crime is occurring or if a crime has occurred call the City of Milwaukee Police Department on their non-emergency number at 414-933-4444. The most recent occurrences were within the first couple weeks of June.
